Serial entrepreneur Steve Goldenberg launched Interfolio, Inc. to help graduate schools select the best and most promising students, while reducing their administrative pain. He developed the idea for this premier academic dossier and credentialing service while pursuing his own degree in Technology and New and Small Business Management from Georgetown University, where his concept for Interfolio won Georgetown’s Phillips Award for Best Business Plan in 1999. (In that same year, Georgetown also honored Steve with its Federal Negotiation & Arbitration Award.)
While still a student, Steve also launched and ran a technology consultancy in the Washington DC area, providing network administration, database development, and technology services to local Washington DC organizations for three years. All of these efforts grow from Steve’s twin passions for technology and entrepreneurship: He has said, “I think starting and growing companies is an incredibly noble and worthwhile endeavor, and I'd like to dedicate my career to creating companies, and helping others do the same.”
As President and CEO of Interfolio, Steve oversees all strategic, financial, and operational decisions, and is leading the company’s ongoing rapid growth in both scope, influence, and visibility. He also serves as Adjunct Professorial Lecturer in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University where he teaches Entrepreneurship in the MBA program. In his “free” time, Steve pursues his passion for photography that documents human rituals, and their roles in defining culture. He serves on the Artist Advisory Board of Washinton, DC‘s Honfleur Gallery. And he is married to Tara Goldenberg, who he describes as “the only person more curious about people than I am.”
